What is your training?
I completed my 200 hour teacher training with Mark Breadner at YogaCoach in Sydney Australia, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School.
If your life had a soundtrack, what would the song be (and who is it by)?
If my life had a soundtrack, it would probably “Catch My Disease (That’s The Way I Like It)” by Australian singer/songwriter, Ben Lee. It is just so happy and boppy and to me it is all about being yourself, spreading all the goodness that you can and not worrying about what other people think. As much as possible, I try to live that way.
What can students expect in your class?
My passion is to guide students through a practice that is a dynamic and challenging - but also relatable, fun and smiley. I achieve this through a strong emphasis on breath and alignment, and also through music and creative flows.
I strive to make yoga as accessible as possible and to hopefully make yogis out of people who may not have thought yoga was for them. The runners, the weight lifters, the couch potatoes, the suits, those who think they are too old, too big, too generally unbendy - anyone with a body basically.
Basically I want everyone leaving class feeling more energized and smiling.
What else are you passionate about?
My life is definitely a balancing act. Off the mat, I am corporate lawyer which can get pretty stressful and a little rigid. I use the mat and my meditation practice to help me balance this out by reinvigorating my mind and my body. I think yoga makes me a better lawyer. And I think more and more employers are starting to see this connection - healthy, balanced, mindful employees are more productive and resilient. Everyone is better off.
